Down the Coast

By the Beach at Surfers Paradise. With a really small person for a flag.

Had a great ride on the Street Glide today.
Travelled down some of Australia's widest super-slab between Brisbane and the Gold Coast and then came home via some nice twisty hinterland back roads. The bike was great. I really enjoy dialing in the cruise control and sitting back to watch it all roll by on the Freeway. It just purrs along, then if you need to give it a squirt to get past a big rig or similar, then the 103 cube engine is the 'torquiest' standard big block I've ridden.
It will quite happily do 60kph in top gear with no sign of straining or lugging, it taps out very nicely too. Mind you I haben't hit the rev limiter yet either, but the motor pulls very nicely.
I did a lap of the Gold Coast strip and felt like a million bucks doing it. I think the bike works very nicely as a cruiser as well. It a real head turner.
Then on the back roads heading home it proved quite agile and a real pleasure to punt along. It has reasonably good cornering clearance for a bike with footboards and it tips in quite satisfactorily.
It's important to have the right pressure in the air adjustable rear end for the back roads, but pump it up and and it gets along just fine.
